The Best Time of Year to Elope in Sedona
Season by season: temperature, light, crowds, and what each one means for your ceremony.

Spring (March–May)
The most requested season, and for good reason: mild temperatures, long comfortable evenings, and green desert after winter moisture. It is also the busiest, so permitted settings and dates go early.
Summer (June–August)
Hot. Sunrise ceremonies work beautifully — cool air, empty trails, excellent light. Afternoons run well above 95°F, and July and August bring monsoon storms that can arrive quickly. We plan summer dates early in the day and keep an alternate setting ready.
Fall (September–November)
Arguably the best balance. Heat breaks, light turns golden, and the red rock holds colour late into the afternoon. October and early November are in high demand.
Winter (December–February)
Quiet, clear, and underrated. Mornings are cold and there is occasional snow on the rock, which photographs remarkably well. Fewer people are on the trails, and more settings are available on short notice.
A note on elevation
If you are also considering Bryce Canyon or Zion, remember that elevation changes the calendar. Bryce sits above 8,000 feet and holds winter far longer than Sedona does.
