Eloping at Bryce Canyon: What to Know

The landscape has no equivalent
Bryce is an amphitheatre of hoodoos — thin orange spires that catch first light before anywhere else in the park. It photographs unlike any red rock setting further south.
Sunrise is the point
The classic viewpoints face east into the amphitheatre. Sunrise ceremonies here are genuinely worth the alarm; by afternoon the same view loses its glow.
Altitude is real
Rim elevations run roughly 8,000 to 9,000 feet. Expect cold mornings even in summer, snow into spring, and shortness of breath if you have flown in from sea level the day before.
Permits and sites
Bryce Canyon National Park requires a special use permit for weddings and designates the locations where ceremonies may take place, with group size limits per site.
Utah license
Like Zion, Bryce is in Utah and requires a Utah marriage license.
Pairing it with Zion
The two parks are close enough to combine. Couples often marry at one and spend the following day exploring the other.
